The Capoterra montains
The Capoterra Mountains stretch behind Cantine Antigori. That’s just about one of the largest forest areas in Europe where nature is still unchanged. Centuries-old oaks, huge trees, olive groves, poplars, holm oaks, junipers. This land is plentiful in waterways. Much of the forest grows on granite rocks and steep slopes giving ways to plains. Many of the island most distinctive animal species live in this territory.
A peculiar natural habitat, rich in shelters and food hosts the most typical Sardinian wild species. Goshawks and buzzards, weasels, foxes and dormice.
And above them all, golden eagles and Sardinian deer.

The sea
Not too far from the Cantine Antigori estate, there are areas of immense beauty, quite popular and sought for by tourists who choose Sardinia as their holiday destination.
Perd’e Sali and Porto Columbu, the beaches of Nora and de su Guventeddu, the fine sand of Santa Margherita di Pula stretching along miles of coast. And then Chia, Capo Spartivento up to Teulada and Porto Pino: beaches, coves and cliffs turn one after the other overlooking the sea.

The estate
Antigori estate covers over 190 hectares, 13.5 of which are planted with vines, among the slopes leading from the mountains to the sea in an area which was once called Su Spantu, Sardinian word for “wonder”, because of its encompassing beauty.
We produce wine and oil, the result of natural, organic and sustainable cultivation practices; we do not use pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The idea is simple and wonderful: protecting the extraordinary natural context in which the Antigori farm is located.
But, even more, the concept is “giving back”, which stands for giving back to the people, to the territory, to the original entrepreneurial plan; Back then, good planning had ventured into starting up one of the largest and most modern farms in Italy. Giving back means respecting, caring protecting, including.
And, in the end, it’s an amazing form of innovation.

The Antigori Nuraghe
The nuraghe is located on the hill of Antigori facing Sarroch Sea, a few hundred meters from the Antigori estate, in a strategic position overlooking Cagliari Bay and Capoterra mountains.
Less than a kilometer away there is the Nuraghe of Sa Domu e S’Orcu.
The Antigori archeological compound consists of a fortification of circular towers and curtain walls following a straight pattern, turning around the top of the rocky hill on which it is located.
Today only two structures are likely to be seen. In the first one, we can still notice the “tholos” chamber.
The 1982 archaeological digs brought to light various Nuragic and especially Mycenaean pottery, over 140 pieces in total; a unique case in such number across the whole Sardinia, evidence of the significant exchanges which took place between these two civilizations.
